POSITION SUMMARY: The Supervisor of Child Study Teams shall coordinate, monitor, and evaluate the services of the Child Study Team personnel and provide direct assistance to classified pupils through small group and individual counseling in the school setting in accordance with Board approved policies and practices.
The Supervisor is expected to work in a cooperative and joint efforts with the staff and other administrative personnel to provide an effective program for referral, evaluation and program implementation for special education pupils. A major function of this position is acting as resource person to Child Study Team members and building administration. The supervisor will collaborate with building administration to meet the district’s school improvement and program requirements and to assist with the supervision and evaluation of assigned child study team members.
The Supervisor of Child Study Teams shall promote the success of all students by understanding, responding to, and influencing the larger political, social, economic, legal, and cultural context, supporting principals in the effective management of the organization, operations, and resources for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment, and by always acting with integrity, fairness, and in an ethical manner.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Supervision/Evaluation of Staff
- Supervise and evaluate child study team members and support staff, as assigned, in accordance with the district's supervision and evaluation protocols.
- Program
- Assign cases to and monitor Child Study Teams for completion of evaluations/reevaluations within mandated timelines.
- Fiduciary Responsibilities / Budget Development
- Supervise budget development and maintenance within discipline(s) in conjunction with building level administration and coordinate at district level with central office administration.
- Inventories
- Support the maintenance of up-to-date inventories of all equipment, materials and supplies consistent with district policies and procedures.
- Board of Education
- Attend Board of Education meetings and make reports to the Board of Education as directed by the superintendent.
- Represent the Department of Pupil Personnel Services on the Parent Advisory Committee.
- Other duties as assigned.
- New Jersey administrative certification as a supervisor or principal.
- Master's Degree appropriate to discipline.
- Valid New Jersey school psychologist, social worker, or LDT/C certification.
- Multi‑year successful continuous experience as a Child Study Team member.
- Successful educational supervisory experience preferred.
- Three consecutive satisfactory annual performance reviews.
- Ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compliance with the NJ FIRST Act.
- Successful Criminal History Clearance.
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorization.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find acceptable.
- Bilingual/Multilingual.
- Master’s degree in education or related field.
- Proven experience at a supervisory level.
12‑month contract. Salary and benefits as determined by the Board of Education and any applicable collective bargaining agreement.
COMPENSATIONStarting salary is $100,000 for the 26/27 school year, commensurate with experience and education.

Performance is reviewed annually in accordance with NJ State law and the provisions of the Board of Education policy on evaluations for certificated staff.
