Overview
Travel Nursing Instructor – New Jersey Area, Kaplan North America. Master’s prepared nurses are invited to join our New Jersey travel teaching team to conduct NCLEX preparation classes across locations in New Jersey (e.g., Newark, Jersey City). This PRN role offers opportunities to travel to different cities, develop teaching and mentoring skills, and support students beyond classroom instruction through Kaplan’s virtual KLIC program as applicable.
Teachers receive paid training, teach from a pre-existing curriculum, and have access to ongoing development. As a KLIC Coach, you will provide individualized guidance via email based on student progress; this is a separate but related role.
Responsibilities- Teach multiple in-person NCLEX preparation sessions at various locations throughout the year.
- Maintain high energy levels and engage students to ensure an excellent student experience.
- Effectively facilitate learning and learner development.
- Learn Kaplan’s methodology and strategies quickly.
- Facilitate active and ongoing classroom management.
- Attend faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and ongoing instructional meetings as required.
- MSN or BSN with Masters required.
- Current, unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse.
- 5+ years of clinical nursing experience required.
- Previous teaching/training experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
- Travel required; lead time, locations, and dates determined based on business needs and availability.
Competitive hourly teaching rates start at $50/hr all travel costs are paid by Kaplan. Paid training and preparation time are provided. Pay increases and Kaplan course access through the Gift of Knowledge Program for employees and their eligible family members (including Purdue Global’s DNP program) are available.
