Company Description Little Medical School® introduces medicine, science, and health to children in an engaging, hands-on way. The organization offers educational enrichment programs that use role-playing and real medical tools to spark curiosity and inspire future healthcare professionals. Programs include after-school classes, live virtual sessions, in-school field trips, birthday parties, and customizable special events, all aligned with STEM objectives. Instructors help create fun, innovative learning experiences that make complex topics accessible and exciting for young learners.
Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Instructor role based in Bergen County, NJ. The Instructor leads small-group classes and events, guiding children through structured lessons, demonstrations, and role-playing activities related to medicine and health. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lesson materials, setting up and cleaning up classrooms, delivering curriculum in an engaging and age-appropriate manner, and ensuring a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Instructors communicate with site coordinators, schools, and caregivers as needed, take attendance, manage classroom behavior, and report any concerns or incidents in accordance with program guidelines. The role may include occasional evening or weekend sessions depending on program schedules.
Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in educational, camp, tutoring, or youth program settings and the ability to manage small groups in a classroom environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain concepts clearly and engage diverse learners.
  • Interest in medicine, science, health education, or STEM fields; prior study or experience in education, healthcare, or related areas is a plus.
  • Reliable, organized, and able to follow a structured curriculum while adapting activities to different ages and learning styles.
  • Ability to travel to program sites within Bergen County, NJ, and work a flexible part-time schedule, including possible afternoons, evenings, or weekends.
  • Commitment to providing a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all students; willingness to complete any required background checks and training.
