Description
The Defense Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a Process Engineer to work at our Picatinny Arsenal, NJ site to conduct process development and optimization for the preparation of propellants utilizing state‑of‑the‑art tools and techniques.
Primary Responsibilities- Conduct ongoing literature searches to develop and maintain awareness of latest ingredients, processes, and techniques.
- Develop new enhanced performance propellants utilizing traditional formulation processes as well as advanced additive manufacturing techniques.
- Develop customized ingredients to enable AM of propellants.
- Support the transition of laboratory scale methods to pilot and ultimately production scales.
- BS in Chemical Engineering and 2‑6 years of relevant experience.
- Prior experience with process development tools and techniques.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team‑based environment.
- US Citizenship required.
- Prior experience with energetics and/or additive manufacturing.
