Roles and Responsibilities
- Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques.
- Work on bridge projects such as steel plate girder, prestressed concrete box culvert, and interchange design for highway projects.
- Select and apply standard bridge engineering/design procedures, develop structural details using specialized design and analysis software, and perform structural load calculations.
- Assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
- Review, assign work, and/or check design calculations, estimates, and specifications produced by junior engineers and EITs.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Previous experience in bridge design.
- Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board in the location of the position (PE or P.Eng).
- Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and engineering software packages such as LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-Multi Pier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, MDX, SAP
2000, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, sp Column, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge. - Experience or knowledge of ADINA, LUSAS, Bentley Open Bridge Designer, Open Bridge Modeler, Autodesk Infra Works, and Civil 3D.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Micro Station, AutoCAD, MathCAD, LARSA, and precast concrete design programs.
- Ability to manage junior staff.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Commitment to being an active participant in an employee‑owned culture.
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in bridge design.
Expected compensation range for Ohio: $80,780 – $115,400.
