Vivarium Design Project Engineer
Full Time – Allentown, NJ, US
Salary Range: $75,000.00 To $85,000.00 Annually
JOB SUMMARYThe Project Engineer role serves as the primary contact between customers, internal teams and third‑party providers. This role is responsible for managing and supporting the overall expectations of a project: working to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and within scope.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS CUSTOMER AND TECHNICAL INTERFACE- Coordinate technical discussions with customers to clarify requirements, specifications and performance expectations.
- Coordinate regular project meetings to ensure projects are on track or to update the team on shifts in scope.
- Create layout drawings and elevations to support coordination of fit of equipment.
- Manage multiple large‑scale projects with cross‑functional development teams.
- Prepare project summaries by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Collaborate closely with the Sales Team, Customer Project Managers and Third‑Party Providers to ensure clear communication.
- Analyze problems that arise during the project cycle and recommend solutions.
- Answer technical questions for the Sales team regarding application engineering support.
- Address customer concerns and provide recommended solutions.
- Follow all safety rules and quality standards including all company policies and procedures.
- Perform job assignments in a safe and productive manner while maintaining high quality levels.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2‑3 years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in Project Management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and associated applications.
- Proficiency with CAD software including AutoCAD
, Solid Works, Revit. - Strong problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to write clear and comprehensive technical documentation.
- High level of professionalism accompanied with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Must have excellent time management skills, being able to prioritize multiple priorities at one time.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
- Must be able to operate a computer and other office machinery such as a calculator, copy machine and printer.
- Must be able to travel for direct meetings and reviews at customer sites.
