Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position available for a limited-term, full-time electrical engineering intern to work on airport design projects (taxiways, aprons, runways, etc.) based in our Elizabeth, NJ office starting in Spring/Summer 2027 and ending in Fall 2027.
The intern will be responsible for assisting engineers, design technicians, and construction managers with electrical airfield engineering projects in the following areas:- Preparing electrical engineering documents
- Assisting with the analysis, preparation or modification of reports, plans, schedules, studies, and designs for projects
- Performing electrical design calculations, quantities, and cost estimates
- Assisting with the preparation of design and construction budgets
- Designing airport electrical systems such as lighting for runways, taxiways, and aprons
- Technical research and writing
- May assist with field inspection, documentation, and survey work
- Other duties as assigned.
A valid driver’s license and occasional travel will be required.
Successful candidates must have completed at least two semesters of college-level coursework in electrical or civil engineering from an accredited college or university by their start date.
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all the following:- Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and Civil3D software
- Understanding of basic electrical engineering design concepts
- Electrical or civil engineering coursework
Mead & Hunt will not sponsor a visa (H-1B, etc.) for this position.
Hourly Rate Range: $18.00 to $25.00 – Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
