Steven Douglas has partnered with a family-owned manufacturing company that is an industry leader in its space
. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on Controller to join a growing organization and play a key role in managing the financial operations while contributing to strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid accounting background, and experience in manufacturing or rental industries.
- Month-End Close & Reporting: Oversee the full month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Cash Management: Monitor daily cash flow, manage banking relationships, and maintain liquidity controls to support operational needs.
- Cost Accounting: Maintain cost accounting practices to accurately track production costs, analyze variances, and improve profitability
- Cost Accounting is a MUST - Inventory Management: Conduct inventory and maintain surge levels.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of professionals across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll functions, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- HR Responsibilities: Support HR functions including benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations as needed.
- Audit Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, ensuring smooth and efficient annual audits and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the development of annual budgets and rolling forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal policies, financial controls, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required;
MBA and/or CPA strongly preferred. - Industry
Experience:
Proven experience in manufacturing and/or rental company environments, with a strong understanding of operational and financial complexities. - Technical
Skills:
Solid ERP systems background (experience with any ERP/Accounting platforms preferred), advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with financial reporting tools. - Cost Accounting Expertise: Deep knowledge of cost accounting principles and their application in a manufacturing setting.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to provide actionable insights to drive business performance.
