Job Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Controller in West Long Branch, New Jersey. This role is crucial in the financial reporting and analysis department, where you will handle and manage General Ledger transactions, including cash and fixed assets. You will also be working with Sage software for various financial operations.

• Oversee financial reporting and analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Handle General Ledger transactions, including cash and fixed assets
• Manage journal entries, ensuring they are accurate and up-to-date
• Oversee bank transactions, reconciling any discrepancies promptly
• Utilize Sage Intacct software for various financial operations
• Ensure accurate and efficient financial operations within the organization
• Work collaboratively with other teams to achieve financial objectives
• Manage and resolve any financial inquiries and issues
• Monitor financial activities for any irregularities
• Provide financial insights and recommendations when required

• Proven experience in a Controller or similar position
• Proficient knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations
• Demonstrated experience with Sage Intacct accounting software
• Strong understanding of General Ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Proficiency in creating and posting Journal Entries
• Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
• Strong knowledge of financial data analysis and forecasting
• Professional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus
• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity
• Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, & external parties to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
