Capex Controller – Project Finance

Position Overview

As a Capex Controller at APM Terminals, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial success of high‑impact infrastructure projects that enable global trade. You will partner closely with project teams and senior stakeholders to oversee capital investments end‑to‑end—driving accurate budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial governance.

• Oversee the financial governance of capital investment projects, including budgeting, forecasting, accounting, cash flow planning, and reporting
• Develop and manage project cash flow forecasts using inputs from project teams, contract terms, and approved investment plans
• Track and report actual project investment against budget, ensuring data accuracy, visibility, and timely financial insights
• Ensure compliance with APM Terminals finance policies, CFO guidelines, concession agreements, and shareholder reporting requirements
• Review capitalization of fixed assets, accruals, supplier invoices, and payment schedules in collaboration with Accounting and Asset Delivery teams
• Support change management by evaluating financial impact of scope or budget changes and preparing business cases and scenario analyses
• Contribute to risk management activities by supporting identification, quantification, and tracking of project‑related financial risks

• Continuous improvement mindset: naturally curious and committed to solving problems at the root, driving incremental improvements daily
• Minimum of five years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, preferably supporting project implementation or capital investment environments
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS accounting standards with demonstrated experience in capitalization and project accounting
• Proven ability to analyze complex financial data, identify deviations, and provide clear, fact‑based recommendations
• Effective communicator who collaborates well with cross‑functional teams and can engage confidently with senior stakeholders
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with discretion and confidentiality

Salary: $95,000 – $130,000
