Compensation: $18 – $20/hour

Burlington County, NJ

Schedule:

Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Join our client as a Medical Collections Specialist (Temp to Perm) in Burlington County, NJ (Hybrid), managing full‑cycle billing operations, verifying insurance, and resolving claims issues. Collaborate with patients, payers, and internal teams to ensure compliance with HIPAA standards and drive timely reimbursements. Ideal for detail‑oriented professionals with experience in medical billing, claims processing, and account management.

Responsibilities as the Medical Collections Specialist:
  • Claims Submission: Accurately prepare and submit electronic and paper claims to insurance companies in a timely manner.
  • Error Resolution & Rebilling: Resolve billing errors, work queue edits, and process unbillable or rebill requests.
  • Insurance Verification & Account Updates: Verify patient benefits (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial) and update demographics and balances.
  • Customer Support: Handle inquiries from patients, insurance carriers, and internal teams with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Maintain HIPAA compliance, request medical records as needed, and report reimbursement issues to management.
Qualifications for the Medical Collections Specialist:
  • Experience: 3+ years in medical billing, claims processing, or insurance verification, with preferred exposure to medical records and payer systems.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows-based systems, with experience navigating billing platforms and claims management software.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement, insurance terminology, and billing regulations.
  • Skills & Attributes: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and efficient multitasker with excellent communication skills and the ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
