Salary: LSW/LAC $65,000-$67,000 or LCSW/LPC $75,000-$77,000

Location:

615 North Broad St., Elizabeth, NJ

Work hours:

Full time- 40 hours weekly

Schedule includes three daytime shifts (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM) and two evening shifts (12:00 PM – 8:00 PM) per week. Evening availability is required.

Bilingual Spanish preferred

May supervise MSW or MA students

POSITION OVERVIEW:

LCSW/LPC

In collaboration with the CIS Director and the Senior Wellness Clinician, the Wellness Clinician-Licensed, LCSW, LPC or LMFT ensures that clinical interventions are effective, trauma informed, stage-based and tied directly to the goal and discharge plans of the individual receiving services. As part of a multidisciplinary, core services team, assessment and direct clinical services to people who are experiencing a mental health crisis or a worsening of a pre-existing mental health disorder or a co-occurring disorder who are enrolled in the CIS Program.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Create and Maintain a wellness and recovery-oriented environment by using person-first language, respectful documentation, and person-centered planning. All services provided will promote a wellness and recovery outcome, helping to stabilize an individual so they may remain in the community, and divert from having to go to the Emergency Room.
  • Foster a culture of compliance with internal and external policies, regulations, laws and high ethical standards.

Provides:

  • Intake assessment, DSM-V diagnosis, goal planning, brief treatment, crisis stabilization, linkage, and discharge planning services for individuals with mental health and co-occurring disorders, inclusive of substance abuse and medical disorders. Conduct a Risk Assessment with each individual to assess suicidal and/or homicidal ideation with clinically indicated follow up if needed.
  • Mental health and substance abuse treatment and education on-site to persons served and significant others, often focusing on evidence-based, trauma informed brief treatment.
  • Crisis intervention services for persons served with acute psychiatric needs whose circumstances require rapid intervention. Interventions include, but are not limited to:
    Motivational Interviewing;
    Cognitive Behavioral Treatment;
    Crisis Stabilization and De-Escalation;
    Trauma Informed Care;
    Self-Regulation;
    Psychoeducation; and other clinically indicated interventions.
  • Brief therapy and evidence-based interventions in individual or group sessions in the office.
  • Involvement of family members at person served request to provide psychoeducation and support.
  • Technical assistance and education to team members in reference to best clinical practices. Utilize best practices materials and strategies for individual and group intervention in conjunction with the team.
