Summary
We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and highly organized Human Resources Manager to oversee and support all HR functions within the organization. The HR Manager will play a key role in shaping company culture, ensuring compliance with employment laws, managing employee relations, and supporting leadership in strategic HR initiatives. This position requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
This position offers a flexible schedule with an expected commitment of 16 hours per week Monday and Friday.
Employee Relations: Serve as a trusted resource for employees and management regarding HR policies, workplace concerns, and conflict resolution. Promote a respectful, inclusive, and supportive work environment. Conduct investigations when necessary and recommend appropriate actions.
Payroll Assistance: Support the payroll process by reviewing timesheets, verifying employee hours, and ensuring accuracy of payroll-related data. Collaborate with the payroll department or external payroll provider to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing. Assist with payroll adjustments, deductions, and employee payroll inquiries while maintaining strict confidentiality.
HR Compliance & Policy Management: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Maintain and update HR policies, employee handbooks, and procedures. Prepare and maintain required documentation for audits and regulatory reporting.
Performance Management: Support managers in implementing performance evaluations, goal setting, and employee development plans. Provide coaching and guidance to improve employee performance and engagement. Assist in identifying training needs and coordinating professional development initiatives.
Organizational Development & Culture: Support leadership in fostering a positive workplace culture aligned with company values. Assist with employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and internal communications. Participate in strategic planning and contribute to HR-related organizational goals.
Additional Responsibilities: Lead or support special HR projects as assigned.
Provide guidance to administrative staff supporting HR functions.
Perform other duties as required by leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 3–5 years of HR management or generalist experience.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
