The Data Scientist AI is responsible for AI and automation to support internal process enhancements through scripting, monitoring, and intelligent workflow automation. The Data Scientist AI plays a key part in the development and maintenance of Gen AI models and AI agents. The Data Scientist AI will partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) and the Business IT Team to drive continuous improvement (CI) through AI-enabled systems and support the expansion and maintenance of existing AI tools/systems in the organization.

The Data Scientist AI ensures alignment between business needs and digital transformation strategies, IT infrastructure, and scalable systems integration.

• Lead the integration of AI technology into departmental processes across the organization
• Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) and the Business Systems Team to drive continuous improvement (CI) through AI-enabled systems
• Develop and maintain architecture using leading AI frameworks. Optimize and fine-tune models for performance and efficiency.
• Test and deploy AI models into production environments. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to models and implementations.
• Implement software engineering concepts like continuous delivery, auto-scaling and application monitoring
• Research and stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in generative AI technologies and methodologies.
• Collaborate with departmental SMEs to identify, prioritize, and implement AI-driven continuous improvement initiatives
• Manage the lifecycle of AI transformation projects, from planning through execution and adoption
• Develop and maintain scripts to automate internal workflows and data processes
• Implement monitoring solutions and define performance metrics and ROI for AI-enabled processes and systems

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years as a Data Engineer with strong cloud-based platform expertise
• Technical expertise:
  Data Engineering, Data Platforms, Data Pipelines, Data Lake Integration
• Experience with Linux, Python, SQL, Containerization
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (AKS/Open Shift), Cloud Platforms, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Monitoring & Observability, Security & Access Management, API & Systems Integration, SQL Server and MySQL
• Architecture:
  Solid understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, and Lakehouse architectures
• CI/CD & Dev Ops:
  Expertise in Git, Git Hub Actions, and automation
• Programming:
  Strong in Python and SQL (Scala is a plus)
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
• Strong analytical, process mapping, and documentation skills
• Experience developing KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics
• Experience with database performance tuning and optimization
• Knowledge of database backup and recovery solutions
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified:
  Azure Data Engineer, or AWS Certified Database Specialty
