GCP Application Architect

We are seeking an experienced Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Application Architect to lead a cloud modernization initiative focused on migrating legacy applications and databases to GCP. The role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing scalable cloud application solutions aligned with business needs and industry best practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in application development, data migration, and extensive hands-on experience with GCP services including Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, and Big Query.

This position will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deployment and efficient management of cloud-based systems.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient cloud architecture using GCP services such as Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, Big Query, etc.
• Conduct proof-of-concepts (POCs) for application teams to adopt.
• Lead modernization of legacy applications including re-architecting and re-platforming to GCP.
• Manage and execute large-scale data migration and ETL processes from on-premise to GCP.
• Collaborate with development teams to guide and support application architecture best practices.
• Monitor cloud workloads, optimize usage, and improve cost-efficiency and performance.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for cloud-based applications and infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with cloud security, identity, and governance policies.

• Proven experience as a GCP Architect or in a similar cloud computing role
• Deep knowledge of GCP services, architecture, networking, and security best practices
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or Deployment Manager
• Experience with Kubernetes, containers, and CI/CD pipeline integration
• Strong background in application development and data migration projects
• Understanding of cloud cost management and optimization strategies
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Effective communication and collaboration skills

• Google Cloud Certified Professional Architect (or equivalent certification)
• Experience with legacy application modernization
• Familiarity with cloud security, compliance, and identity management
