Position: Network Engineer (Routing and Switching)

Job Description:

Who are we looking for?

The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the network infrastructure of a global organization. This role requires a deep understanding of routing and switching technologies to ensure the efficient and secure transfer of data across the network.

Technical

Skills:

  • Design and implement functional resilient network infrastructure (routing and switching) including documentation and operational handover with escalations.
  • Troubleshoot network issues and outages, schedule upgrades, and collaborate with network architects on network optimization.
  • Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and by defining and monitoring access.
  • Update network equipment to the latest firmware releases.
  • Report network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information.
  • Manage and lead routing and switching projects, including the installation of new hardware and software, and the creation of policies and procedures related to network hardware and software.
  • Provide technical support and consultation for IT and end-user departments.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Documentation skills. (Visio a plus)
  • Automation experience.

Experience

  • Extensive experience as a Network Engineer focusing on routing and switching design, deployment planning and implementation in a highly controlled and regulated environment.
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS).
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools.
  • University degree in Computer Science or a related subject.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) is preferred.
  • Experience with Cisco switches, routers, firewalls

Qualification:

  • Somebody who has at least 8+ years of work experience in Network Management
  • Cisco or other network OEM certification desired
  • Education qualification:

    B. Tech, BE, BCA, MCA, M. Tech or equivalent technical degree from a reputed college
