VP Global Procurement – R&D

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the R&D category.
• Establish category strategies and drive value with business partners across Regeneron's R&D organization.
• Design an R&D procurement function that scales with both human capability and technology-driven execution.
• Lead critical negotiations, supplier management, and stakeholder engagement for the R&D category.
• Build risk and supply chain resilience into category and sourcing strategies.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of efficient global procurement organizations within the biopharmaceutical industry.
• Exhibit role‑model leadership behaviors across the organization.

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (required); an advanced degree (MBA or similar) and/or a professional procurement certification is strongly preferred.
• ~20 years of progressive experience in global procurement or category management, including a track record of taking on broader scope, higher‑stakes categories, and larger teams at each career step.
• Direct experience leading procurement within a multi‑national biopharmaceutical or life sciences organization, with working fluency in the R&D category specifically.
• A demonstrated record of enterprise‑level influence.
• Hands‑on ownership of building or substantially re‑engineering a procurement function.
• Command of complex, high‑value negotiations and supplier relationships, with specific, quantifiable outcomes.
• Evidence of building supply chain resilience proactively.
• Direct people‑leadership experience managing Director‑level (or equivalent senior) professionals.
