Procurement Lead Logistics

As Procurement Lead Logistics, you will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies across logistics and transportation categories, including domestic and international freight, warehousing, distribution, parcel services, customs brokerage, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers. You will partner closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, and business leaders to optimize logistics spend, improve service performance, mitigate supply chain risks, and drive continuous value creation.

The role requires a strategic procurement professional with strong logistics expertise, commercial acumen, and supplier management capabilities who can effectively support a dynamic and fast-paced business environment across North America and global operations.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies for logistics and transportation services, aligning procurement objectives with business and supply chain priorities.
• Lead sourcing initiatives across key logistics spend areas, including:
  
  Ocean freight
• Air freight
• Ground transportation
• Parcel and courier services
• Warehousing and distribution
• Customs brokerage
• Third-party logistics (3PL) providers
• Manage end-to-end sourcing processes, including RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, supplier evaluations, negotiations, contracting, and implementation.
• Negotiate competitive commercial agreements, pricing structures, service level agreements (SLAs), and performance metrics.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with logistics providers and key supply chain partners.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost, service, quality, and sustainability.
• Analyze transportation spend, freight data, and market trends to identify optimization opportunities and support data-driven decision-making.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain and Operations teams on network optimization, distribution strategies, and logistics transformation initiatives.
• Support business continuity planning and supplier risk management activities.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities to leverage procurement best practices, automation, and digital procurement tools.
• Develop and maintain procurement reporting, supplier scorecards, and KPI dashboards.

Your Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Procurement, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement within logistics and transportation categories.
• Strong knowledge of freight management, warehousing, distribution, transportation networks, and supply chain operations.
• Proven experience negotiating contracts with carriers, freight forwarders, parcel providers, and 3PL suppliers.
• Experience managing significant logistics spend and delivering measurable cost savings and operational improvements.
• Strong analytical and financial skills, including spend analysis and total cost of ownership (TCO) methodologies.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple sourcing initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working within a multinational organization is preferred.
• Proficiency in SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Ariba, or similar procurement and ERP systems is considered an advantage.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
