Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Monitors and controls all aspects of equipment repair in the Elizabeth, NJ area.
Duties and Responsibilities- Monitors and controls M&R costs for chassis within the Elizabeth, NJ area.
- Monitors and controls OOS equipment levels to include repair estimate approval and repair limit compliance
- Updates chassis OOS status and notes as needed in CMS-PC
- Ensures DCLI inspection/repair standards are adhered to on all equipment repairs
- Assists in continuously investigating ways and means to reduce overall M&R costs while ensuring service levels are not compromised
- Works with labor to increase productivity
- Monitors and controls spare parts inventory levels of DCLI owned parts
- Responds to all correspondence ASAP, no later than one working day
- Reviews work order input in CMS-PC on a daily basis and transmits work orders daily
- Resolves work order input discrepancy with Operations Coordinator
- Performs DCLI monthly safety meetings
- Monitors and reviews safety policies and procedures
- Monitors and releases any DVER/DVIR inspections that location is notified of
- Generates information for third party billing/damage recovery
- Handles chassis service calls with over the road drivers
- Tracks and orders license plates for chassis
- Works with the logistics team to ensure proper inventory levels are kept in locations
- Monitors and controls inventory levels of DCLI owned tires
- Coordinates off-hire and scrap chassis programs
- Coordinates repairs on client chassis too include interaction with client representative related to estimate approval and billing in Depot Systems
- Five years’ experience in maintenance and repair
- Thorough knowledge of chassis repair
- Ability to effectively communicate company policy and procedures
- Ability to identify problems and seek solutionsli>
- Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet daily requirements
- Interface credibly with vendors and terminal personnel
- Ability to work with internal and external customers
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
