Position Overview
The Coffee Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations, staff management, inventory control, financial performance, and ensuring exceptional customer service standards. This role requires strong leadership, operational excellence, and a commitment to creating a positive team and customer experience.
Responsibilities- Leadership & Talent Development
- Recruit, train, and mentor coffee shop staff to uphold company standards.
- Provide ongoing coaching, conduct performance reviews, and address improvement areas.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
- Build strong relationships within the team to enhance employee and customer experience.
- Promote store events, seasonal promotions, and engage with local community partnerships.
- Operational Management
- Monitor sales performance and ensure revenue targets are met.
- Manage budgets, control expenses, and track cash flow.
- Oversee opening/closing procedures, cleaning, and light maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food sanitation standards.
- Troubleshoot operational issues such as equipment malfunctions or supply shortages.
- Quality & Customer Experience
- Maintain high-quality standards for coffee and food preparation.
- Ensure adherence to recipes and preparation guidelines.
- Implement customer feedback to improve service and experience.
- Address and resolve customer complaints promptly.
- Promote brand values and enhance customer loyalty.
- Reporting & Compliance
- Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory, payroll, and other data.
- Prepare regular reports on performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal food safety regulations.
- Conduct safety and sanitation training for staff.
- 3+ years’ experience in retail or food & beverage management.
- Proficiency with POS systems and scheduling software.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, sales tracking, and inventory management.
- Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to problem-solve and maintain a strong work ethic.
Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business—including nights, weekends, busy season, and high-traffic retail days (including but not limited to public holidays).
Physical RequirementsAbility to lift at least 25 lbs. regularly (up to 50 lbs, occasionally), to climb, bend, kneel, and maneuver sales floor and stockroom.
Base Pay Range$75,000.00—$80,000.00
