Production Manager
Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated individual who can lead our employees within a fast-paced, assembly line, production environment.
Position
Description:
Shift: 2nd shift (some shifts may vary)
Hours: Tuesday - Saturday, 7 PM – 3 AM (some variations in schedule may be mandatory)
Salary Rate: $54,000 - $60,000
Responsibilities- Creates manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaches and provides feedback to employees; initiates, coordinates, and enforces systems, policies, and procedures.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the second or third shift production and loadout employees.
- Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; monitors progress, revises schedules, reports results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
- Maintains quality service by promoting and enforcing organization standards.
- Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answers questions and responds to requests.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources.
- Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, reporting issues, identifying solutions, recommending action.
- Maintains communication with Plant/Production Manager and Assistant Production Manager.
- Confer with management, and supervisors, to coordinate operations and activities within/between departments.
- Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
- Serve as possible Plant Supervisor Vacation Relief.
- Complete other duties as assigned by Management.
- Monitors production activities to eliminate downtime, delays and ensure adherence to production goals based on scheduling.
- Ensures efficient utilization of equipment and facilities.
- Monitors production quality and ensures operators are able to use machines for production.
- Maintains daily production records.
- Works with Production Manager & Assistant Production Manager to coordinate production employee training on job functions and the machine operations.
- Maintains cleanliness, ensures proper handling of tools and equipment, and monitors correct operation of machinery to ensure safety.
- Provide a Continuous improvement mindset.
- Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
- Approves employee timecards for Payroll each week, keeps track of employee absences/qualifying documents.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Must be able to maintain a high level of productivity while observing all safety rules, operations protocols, and while problem solving.
- Must be able to observe work and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production/processing standards.
- Production background and experience.
- Maintenance knowledge & Mechanical background a plus!
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to work at various speeds, in both a cooler and office, sometimes outside, environment.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be able to work standing. Must be able to stoop, kneel, reach, lift and must be able to work under these conditions every day, for entirety of shift (8+ hours). This job requires frequent lifting of supplies and raw materials that might exceed 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
This position requires good, corrected hearing.
