The New Product Launch Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating all activities related to the successful launch of new products and programs for key A-Tier customers. This role serves as the central point of coordination throughout the Product Launch and APQP process, ensuring all customer requirements, internal deliverables, and launch milestones are completed accurately and on schedule.
The New Product Launch Specialist works cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales, Production, and other departments to ensure a smooth transition from program award through safe launch and into serial production. This position is heavily focused on organization, communication, project management, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities Program & Launch Management- Manage new product launches and customer program requirements from initial award through serial production.
- Coordinate and track all launch-related activities associated with APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) or other Customer requirements.
- Serve as the primary internal coordinator for launch timing, deliverables, and customer requirements.
- Develop and maintain detailed launch timing plans, action item lists, and milestone trackers.
- Ensure all customer deliverables are completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Escalate launch risks, timing concerns, or resource constraints to leadership when necessary.
- Coordinate activities between Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Tooling, Production, and Sales teams.
- Ensure all departments complete assigned launch activities within required timelines.
- Lead or support launch review meetings and follow-up activities.
- Facilitate communication between internal teams and customers regarding launch status, concerns, and changes.
- Track open issues and drive closure of action items.
- Coordinate and track prototype, pilot, and sample production runs.
- Track parts through safe launch activities and initial production ramp-up.
Monitor launch performance metrics including quality, delivery, and production stability. - Ensure all launch-related concerns are resolved prior to transition into serial production.
- Maintain accurate records and status updates for all active launch programs.
- Prepare and present summary reports for management on open projects, launch status, risks, and company launch performance.
- Develop monthly, quarterly, or other periodic launch performance metrics and summaries.
- Support management reviews and customer launch status updates as required.
