Printing Press Operator

Industry: Flexible Packaging / Poly Film

The Company is a rapidly expanding manufacturing organization in the flexible packaging and converting space. The company has experienced significant growth in recent years, driven by substantial capital investment across its facilities in New Jersey, Ohio, and Indiana.

The flagship facility alone employs over 300 individuals and operates a large-scale production environment featuring multiple high-value assets, including large-format printers, laminators, and packaging lines. The company has doubled its production capacity through new buildings and equipment, positioning itself as a major player in its industry.

• Set up and operate flexographic printing presses designed for poly film substrates.
• Prepare, adjust, and maintain inks, plates, anilox rolls, and substrates in accordance with job tickets and specifications.
• Monitor color consistency, registration, and overall print quality
• Pull proofs and inspect samples throughout the run.
• Accurately record production data, material usage, and machine settings.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper handling of inks/solvents.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs; troubleshoot press-related issues to minimize downtime.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAOs)

• Knowledge:
  Flexographic printing processes, ink systems, color theory, and press mechanics.
• Skills:
  
  Operation and control of printing presses; quality inspection and control; basic mechanical troubleshooting.
• Abilities:
  Strong attention to detail; manual dexterity; problem-solving ability; capability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Minimum Qualifications

• 1 - 6 years of experience operating flexographic presses in flexible packaging or poly film environment.
• Ability to read and interpret job tickets, specifications, and production schedules.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and proper handling of inks/solvents.
• Computer Savvy
• Troubleshooting printing issues
• Must be fluent in Spanish;
  English proficiency preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with poly film substrates.
• Knowledge of color matching systems and ink viscosity adjustments.
