Job Summary

Trinitas Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced and compassionate Charge Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). In this leadership role, you will provide expert clinical care to post‑operative patients while coordinating unit operations during your designated shift. As the Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you will serve as a resource for staff, promote high‑quality patient care, and support a collaborative, patient‑centered environment focused on exceptional clinical outcomes.

What You'll Do
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical procedures.
  • Perform advanced clinical assessments, monitor patients' recovery, and intervene promptly to prevent complications.
  • Assess and manage airway, ventilation, circulation, pain, nausea, and post‑operative recovery.
  • Monitor vital signs and operate specialized post‑anesthesia monitoring equipment.
  • Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges to support efficient patient throughput.
  • Educate patients and families on post‑operative recovery and discharge instructions.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nursing leadership, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
  • Serve as the Clinical Nurse Coordinator during assigned shifts by providing clinical oversight, staff support, and operational leadership.
  • Assist with staff scheduling, productivity management, inventory oversight, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor nursing staff while promoting professional development, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and contribute to a culture of safety, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications Required
  • Current New Jersey Registered Nurse License
  • Minimum 2 years of PACU nursing experience
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 3 months of hire
  • Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) within 1 year of hire
Preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current CPAN Certification
