Pay Range: $18.63 per hour

The Cook prepares, seasons & cooks food for hospital patients, hospital cafeteria meals on wheels program, and special functions for both on and off sites. This position is required to maintain a sanitary and safe work environment following all state and local health codes.

• One-year hotel/restaurant cooking experience
• Ability to speak, read and write English
• Ability to follow directions and work unsupervised in a restaurant style facility

• 12:00pm-8:00pm with every other weekend

• Prepares required amount of food to cover meals
• Consistently follows recipes when preparing food
• Frequently tastes food for quality assurance
• Takes temperatures daily following local and state codes
• Stores and labels food properly
• Follows daily and weekly cleaning schedule
• Demonstrates five-star standards with staff, patients and customers
• Prepares fresh products daily
• Reviews daily production sheets to properly identify type and quality of food to be prepared
• Minimizes waste and over production
• Rotates food items on a FIFO+A95 basis
• Insures all foods are kept at proper holding temperatures
• Successfully performs batch cooking
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Responsible for quality, appearance taste
• Attends all department and hospital meetings when scheduled
