The Retail Sales Consultant is a full-time, on-site role based in Elizabeth, NJ. In this position, you will engage with customers in the retail environment, actively listening to their needs and recommending Optimum products and services that best fit their lifestyle or business requirements. You will assist customers with account setup, upgrades, and troubleshooting basic service issues while ensuring a positive and efficient in-store experience.
Daily responsibilities include meeting or exceeding sales targets, maintaining product knowledge, handling transactions, and keeping the store environment organized and welcoming. You will collaborate with team members, follow company policies and procedures, and represent Optimum’s brand standards in every customer interaction.
- Strong retail sales and sales consulting skills, with the ability to understand customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Demonstrated customer service and customer experience skills to create a welcoming and supportive in-store environment.
- Focus on customer satisfaction, using follow-through and clear communication to build trust and long-term relationships.
- Effective verbal communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills in a fast-paced retail setting.
- Comfort with technology, point-of-sale systems, and learning new products and services quickly.
- Ability to work on-site in Elizabeth, NJ, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Previous retail, telecommunications, or consumer electronics experience is beneficial.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business, marketing, or related fields is a plus.
