Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site Laundry Technician/Repair role based in Elizabeth, NJ. The Laundry Technician/Repair professional will install, maintain, and repair commercial washers, dryers, and related laundry equipment at client properties. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, performing preventative maintenance, replacing parts, and ensuring equipment is operating safely and efficiently. The role also involves responding to service calls, documenting work performed, tracking parts and inventory usage, and coordinating with the operations team to minimize equipment downtime.
The technician will interact with property staff and residents in a professional manner, provide basic user guidance when needed, and follow all safety and compliance procedures.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience troubleshooting and repairing commercial or residential laundry equipment or similar machinery.
- Basic electrical knowledge, including safe use of testing tools and ability to read simple wiring diagrams or schematics.
- Ability to perform routine preventative maintenance, including inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and part replacement.
- Comfort working on-site at multifamily properties and similar facilities, with a customer-focused and professional demeanor.
- Effective problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to document work clearly and accurately.
- Physical ability to lift and move equipment, work in tight spaces, and stand, bend, or kneel for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between job sites as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanics, HVAC, appliances, or a related field is a plus.
- Previous field service, maintenance, or appliance repair experience is highly beneficial.
- Willingness to work a consistent full-time schedule, with occasional flexibility for urgent service needs.
