Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to maintain the daily operations of apartment complexes in Elizabeth, NJ. This position is responsible for maintaining and servicing the building facilities and tenant work orders. You must demonstrate strong proficiency in plumbing, electrical, and a broad range of general maintenance trade skills.

• Respond promptly and professionally to service requests from management and residents.

• Sheetrock/drywall repair
• General carpentry
• Painting, patching, and compounding

• Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance to ensure building systems operate efficiently.
• Identify potential issues early and implement solutions to reduce emergency repairs and downtime.
• Maintain clean, safe, and well‑organized work areas, mechanical rooms, and common spaces.

• Coordinate and assist with apartment turnovers, ensuring units are move‑in ready.
• Work with outside contractors as needed to complete renovations, repairs, and upgrades on schedule.

• Perform snow and ice removal to ensure safe access to the property during winter months.
• Assist with general exterior maintenance and upkeep as needed.

• Must have 5+ years of experience in property maintenance, handling work orders and performing preventative maintenance.
• Available to be on calls during the weekdays and weekends as necessary to respond to emergency calls/work orders.
• Must have own tools and a valid driver's license.

Salary: $25.00 - $30.00/hr
