Hours & LocationMonday – Friday each week, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM.
Primary location:
Landfill site in ELIZABETH, NJ.
- Repair equipment including bulldozers, scrapers, backhoes, front-end loaders, yard trucks, farm tractors, forklifts, and company cars.
- Diagnose and repair differentials, hydraulic systems, motors, transmissions, drives, air conditioning systems, and electrical systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance as set out by the site checklist.
- Complete paperwork and administrative tasks such as work orders, card files, P.M. checklists, and oil samples.
- Service and maintain other equipment such as light plants, water pumps, welders, and other machinery.
- Reference site-specific procedures and follow detailed job descriptions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 6 years of maintenance mechanic experience on heavy equipment.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Be over 18 years of age.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.
- Annual Pulmonary Function Test (PFT), Audiogram, and Respirator Fit Test.
Required to exert physical effort that includes frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing; constant standing, walking, and grasping; occasional sitting and balancing. Exposure to physical occupational risks such as cuts, burns, toxic chemicals, and environmental elements like dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes is common. This job operates in both inside and outside conditions including inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
