The Mechanical Foreman is responsible for leading and supervising a team of Mechanics, Mechanic Aides, and Mechanic/Welders in the repair, installation, maintenance, and overhaul of mechanical equipment throughout the Authority's treatment facilities, pump stations, and related infrastructure. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the reliable operation of critical equipment by coordinating daily maintenance activities, supporting preventive maintenance programs, and assisting with the planning and scheduling of maintenance projects.
Working closely with the Maintenance Supervisor, the Mechanical Foreman helps oversee equipment reliability, inventory and work order management, budget planning, and emergency preparedness. The position is also responsible for enforcing Authority safety policies, conducting employee training, maintaining accountability for vehicles, tools, and equipment, and providing leadership through performance management, coaching, and supervision of maintenance personnel. The successful candidate must be available to respond to emergencies on a 24-hour basis, participate in emergency preparedness activities, and perform work that may require the use of specialized safety equipment. At least 5 years of experience as a Mechanic in a Wastewater Treatment Facility are required.
