White Oak of Burlington has an Activity Assistant position that we would like to fill with the best person! We welcome you to join our team of dedicated individuals that enrich the lives of our patients and residents by promoting physical, mental and psychosocial well‑being for our 160‑bed skilled nursing facility.

• Meet with all patients/residents to determine program needs.
• Contribute to plan of care conferences.
• Assist with design, posting and maintenance of attractive bulletin boards and calendars of scheduled activities.
• Assist with 1:1 activities (manicures, polish, reading, etc.) and conduct group activities (bingo, concerts, parties, etc.).
• Assist residents to and from activities.
• Keep accurate attendance and participation records of each activity and evaluate program effectiveness and degree of resident involvement.
• Document accurately and keep records current.
• Assist with Residents Council and promote good public relations within and outside the facility.
• Set up decorations for seasonal holidays.
• Support tasks throughout the entire facility.

• High School education or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of physiological changes and needs of the aging population.
• Patience, empathy, excellent customer service and time‑management skills.
• Professional interaction with residents, staff, families, visitors, officials.
• Positive attitude with friendly and approachable mannerisms.
• Experience in activity planning and socially confident to initiate one‑on‑one or group activities.
• Experience in long‑term care as an Activity Assistant preferred but not required.
• Capacity to work some weekends.
