Air & Ocean Import/Export Coordinator | New Jersey | Salary: $70,000
The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating end-to-end import and export shipments by air and ocean, ensuring timely delivery, accurate documentation, regulatory compliance, and excellent customer service.
This role requires strong knowledge of global logistics operations, carrier coordination, customs processes, and international trade documentation.

- Coordinate and manage air and ocean import/export shipments from booking through final delivery.
- Prepare, review, and process international shipping documentation, including:
Commercial invoices, Packing lists, Bills of lading (B/L), Air waybills (AWB), Certificates of origin, Customs documentation - Communicate with overseas agents, carriers, airlines, ocean lines, trucking providers, customs brokers, and customers to ensure smooth shipment execution.
- Monitor shipment status, provide proactive updates, and resolve delays or operational issues.
- Arrange and coordinate domestic transportation, including pickup and delivery scheduling.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, import/export requirements, and company procedures.
- Track and maintain shipment records within freight forwarding/logistics software systems.
- Review freight invoices, accessorial charges, and vendor billing for accuracy.
- Support rate requests, quotations, and customer inquiries.
- Identify and implement solutions to improve shipment efficiency, cost control, and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers and overseas partners through professional communication and timely service.
- 3+ years of experience in international freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain operations.
- Hands‑on experience coordinating air and ocean import/export shipments.
- Strong understanding of Incoterms, international documentation, and customs procedures.
- Experience working with freight forwarding systems
- Knowledge of major ocean carriers, airlines, and global logistics networks.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook.
