About You

As a member of the Logistics Division, you will be responsible for all Inventory Administrative functions including daily cycle counts, inventory adjustments, verifications of receiving and over/short reporting in our Northern Perishables facility in Elizabeth, NJ. The Inventory Control Administrative Clerk acts as a liaison between Operations, Procurement and partnering organizations, maintaining inventory integrity in support of all parties. This position works the hours of 10:00 pm–6:30 am.

Core

Functions
  • Daily cycle counting of product in a refrigerated warehouse, maintaining accuracy records for each area counted and updating the WMS as needed.
  • Investigate and analyze daily WMS reports for an assigned area (scratch reports, problem locations, rotations, invoice discrepancies, and other assigned reports), updating the WMS.
  • Rapidly process inventory adjustments.
  • Verify receiving reports and develop over/short reporting.
  • Log and file maintenance.
  • Produce information for Procurement, Logistics and Operations regarding date‑coded items, discontinued items, seasonal issues, quality control, items “on hold”, “on sale” item reports and product unavailable for shipment (unslotted, lost, etc.).
  • Process stock transfers.
  • Participate in all physical inventories (auxiliary warehouses, etc.).
  • Assist other Inventory Associates as business needs require, documenting procedure errors and safety issues and following the chain of command.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and administrative skills.
  • PC literacy, including proficiency in MS Office, Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated data‑entry accuracy and working knowledge of Wakefern computer systems (Rapid, WMS, QMF and Metafile) preferred.
  • Flexibility with work schedule: ability to work any five of seven days and to meet frequent overtime, alternate shifts and weekend work as needed.
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, stretch and reach as needed for long periods.
  • Ability to look up and down for long periods.
  • Ability to monitor computer screens for extended durations.
  • Ability to work seated for long periods when required.
  • Ability to work in refrigerated conditions.
  • Must wear OSHA‑compliant safety footwear at all times in the warehouse.
  • Ability to travel as required for business needs (warehouse locations, etc.).

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $796 – $980. Placement in the range depends on several factors, including experience, skills, education, geography and budget considerations.
