DescriptionThe career development coordinator will support team members of Ballad Health and students of the Ballad Health Academy by performing a variety of career counseling and advisory services. They will assist team members and students with decision-making processes relating to career and personal goal achievement. They will support Ballad Health's culture to engage team members and students and in a process that aids and guides decision-making regarding career options.
The career development coordinator develops a career plan with each program participant, performs assessments with participants to help them identify a career path, works with participants to perfect their resumes and interview skills, builds relationships with business partners, and follows trends in job growth and workforce needs in our area.
Position responsibilities include:
- Performs assessments with participants to determine their interests, work history, educational history, skills, and strengths. Makes career recommendations based on these assessments and the labor market.
- Creates career development assignments to help participants engage in self-reflection and move more quickly through the career exploration and decision-making process.
- Provides academic advising and career counseling to team members and students which includes career development assessment and referrals to college and community resources for career advising and support services as needed.
- Provides support and problem-solving services, in addition to use of career inventories and career researching activities, to aid and guide participant decision making.
- Participates in professional development and confers with other professionals in the field to keep abreast of program trends.
- Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Develops and presents materials used for providing career counseling and advising; organizes team member and student success related projects or activities including training or facilitating workshops.
- Research, compiles, reviews data, and prepares related reports and correspondence.
- Creates, schedules, and conducts new team member and student orientations, group advisory sessions, and events including internal and external partnerships.
- Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor.
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required. Minimum of three to five years of work experience in teaching, educational administration, clinical education, or human resources. Must be a strong collaborator who can work in a matrixed environment and team setting to accomplish goals in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
