Position Summary:

The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration, is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role involves diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and performing preventive maintenance to optimize system performance. The Technician collaborates with management and team members to deliver quality service, leads and mentors less-experienced staff, and manages service calls efficiently.

Adherence to operational standards and effective communication with customers are essential to support facility operations and sustainability goals.

The Lead Technician team within Facility Services, Exterior Services, ensures the reliable operation and maintenance of Walmart facilities nationwide. This team collaborates with management and business partners to prioritize tasks, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions while adhering to safety and environmental standards. Members apply expertise in preventive maintenance, equipment repair, and resource management to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.

What you'll do:

• Install, configure, and calibrate HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork, control panels, and building pneumatics, ensuring compliance with building codes and operational specifications.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration units, walk-ins, reach-ins, and rack systems to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Conduct inspections and service activities following OSHA standards and EPA refrigerant handling protocols.
• Lead and mentor field teams, providing technical guidance and promoting safety practices.
• Manage service calls, coordinate with external providers, and maintain accurate documentation and inventory.
• Operate company vehicles safely to complete service assignments within assigned regions.

What you'll bring:

• Proven experience installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial or industrial settings.
• Ability to interpret layout plans, schematics, and building codes to ensure accurate system configuration.
• Skilled in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues and implementing preventive maintenance programs.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and EPA 608 refrigerant handling protocols.
• Competence in operating heavy machinery and company vehicles safely and responsibly.
• Strong communication skills to effectively explain technical issues and collaborate with team members and customers.
• Capability to lead and mentor technicians while managing escalated service issues.
