Neptunelines is seeking a dedicated Accounting Assistant to join our dynamic team in Athens, Piraeus.

• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, including invoice verification and payment processing.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Maintain organized financial records and documentation for audits and internal reviews.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and submit tax returns and other regulatory filings in a timely manner.
• Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency.
• Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends and variances, providing insights to management.
• Participate in training and development initiatives to stay updated on accounting best practices and regulations.
• Utilize accounting software and tools to streamline processes and improve data accuracy.
• Communicate effectively with vendors, clients, and team members to foster positive relationships and ensure smooth operations.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a similar role, preferably within the maritime or logistics sector.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, SAP, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, in Greek and English.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn.

• Experience with maritime accounting practices or familiarity with the shipping industry.
• Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements specific to Greece.
• Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent is a plus.
• Experience with financial forecasting and budgeting processes.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools or software.

• Proficiency in accounting software is essential, along with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
