Responsibilities

Serves as the College's chief records officer and provides strategic leadership, planning, administration, and oversight of all functions within the Office of the Registrar. The Registrar is responsible for the integrity, accuracy, security, and confidentiality of all official student academic records and ensures institutional compliance with federal and state laws, accreditation standards, and College policies governing student records, registration, enrollment, residency, grading, transfer credit, degree certification, graduation, and academic records management.

This position is also responsible for the oversight of veterans and veteran’s dependents records as the School Certifying Official (SCO). The Registrar works closely with academic leadership, faculty, department chairs, and deans to translate curriculum decisions, catalog requirements, and academic policies into operational processes that support student success and institutional compliance.

The Registrar provides leadership in the administration and continuous improvement of student information systems, academic records processes, and enrollment-related technologies. The position collaborates extensively with Academic Affairs, Student Services, Information Technology, Institutional Research, Financial Aid, Admissions, Business Services, and other College departments to support student success, institutional effectiveness, strategic enrollment management, and regulatory compliance. The Registrar serves as the College's primary authority on academic records administration and advises senior leadership regarding student records, registration processes, institutional policy development, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Higher Education Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration or closely related field. Master’s Degree preferred. Must have at least 3-5 years progressively responsible experience in higher education administration, registrar operations, enrollment management, student records, admissions, student services, or related administrative functions.

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of principles and practices of higher education administration; registrar operations and student records administration; strategic enrollment management principles; student Information Systems and enterprise software applications (such as BANNER); FERPA and other federal and state laws governing student records; academic policies, curriculum administration, and degree requirements; records management and data governance; institutional research and enrollment reporting methodologies; and budget administration and personnel management.

Must possess excellent written and verbal communication, conflict resolution and customer service skills, and advanced computer proficiency, including Student Information Systems and Microsoft Office applications. Must be people-oriented with strong commitment to excellent customer service, demonstrating a people-first attitude, patience, attentiveness, creativity, and resourcefulness. Must be able to interpret and apply complex federal, state, and institutional regulations, maintain confidentiality while exercising sound professional judgment establish effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, governmental agencies, and external partners, manage multiple priorities and complex projects simultaneously, communicate effectively with diverse internal and external constituencies, and exercise initiative, discretion, independent judgment, and sound decision-making.
