SVP / VP of Construction – National Multifamily & Affordable Housing Developer
Macdonald & Company have been exclusively retained to appoint a senior construction leader (SVP or VP) for a national developer of multifamily and affordable housing. With 20+ projects currently under construction and a steady pipeline of 10–15 new starts each year, this is a pivotal leadership role within a fast-growing platform.
The SVP/VP of Construction will report directly to ownership and lead all aspects of construction from pre-construction and procurement through project execution and delivery. This individual will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget, and building a high-performing team to support the company’s long-term growth.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead all construction activity across a national portfolio of multifamily/affordable housing projects.
- Oversee pre-construction, procurement, scheduling, and project delivery.
- Collaborate closely with ownership and development to align construction with business goals.
- Drive innovation and efficiency in construction methods and scheduling.
- Build, mentor, and scale a best-in-class construction team.
What We’re Looking For:
- 10–15+ years of senior construction leadership experience (developer/builder or GC background).
- Proven track record delivering large-scale, ground-up multifamily or affordable housing projects.
- Strong financial management and commercial acumen.
- Leadership skills to manage teams and partner cross-functionally with development.
