Traveling Concrete Superintendent

Join Thompson Concrete as a Traveling Concrete Superintendent. The role involves traveling to job sites, providing on‑site leadership, and managing construction projects.

Base Pay Range

$75,000.00/hr – $90,000.00/hr

Job Summary

The Superintendent oversees all phases of the job site, delivering quality work while managing crews, schedules, and budgets.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Follow company Values, Vision, and Mission.
  • Direct and lead multiple crews.
  • Travel to jobsites and receive $145 per diem for trips over 60 miles.
  • Receive weekly vehicle allowance, gas card, and company credit card.
  • Earn a yearly bonus up to 10 % based on performance.
  • Develop a schedule and cost‑effective plan for project completion.
  • Create estimates and budgets for materials and labor.
  • Coordinate and schedule work activities for all laborers, communicating via foreman to deliver instructions and project assignments.
  • Inspect work regularly for quality and timeliness.
  • Obtain required permits and licenses.
  • Monitor budget throughout the project.
  • Address safety violations or deficiencies.
  • Create comparison worksheets and gather quotes for materials on larger projects.
  • Track and invoice specialty equipment to the appropriate cost code.
  • Accurately code project invoices.
  • Collect all required documentation, including certificates, lien waivers, warranties, etc.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or needed, up to and including all laborer duties.
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Effective presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent budgeting and cost containment skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Proficiency with Pro Contractor and Blue Beam.
  • Excellent understanding of construction drawings.
Education & Experience
  • 4‑year college degree in construction management or equivalent job experience.
  • Valid driver's license or state .
  • CPR and First Aid certification (Thompson will train).
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to kneel, crouch, balance, climb, and crawl.
  • Ability to traverse different types of worksites, bend, climb, stretch, and reach.
  • Ability to exert physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a variety of environments including concrete, dirt, fumes, and loud noise levels.
  • Ability to work long hours and Saturdays when needed.
Required Tools
  • Tape measure.
  • Hammer.
  • Complete tool belt.
