Schedule:
1A Grade 6/7/8 (attached). Salary Range: $17.00/hr‑$26.96/hr.
Working Calendar: 187 days / 7 hours per day.
Scope of ResponsibilitiesThis position is responsible for assisting in the coordination, creation, and implementation of supports for Multilingual Learners and their families. This includes supporting the coordination of resources and partnerships with diverse community stakeholders and providing direct service to MLs and their families.
Minimum Qualifications – Instructor I Bilingual Associate- High School Diploma or GED
- Passing score on the Kentucky Para‑educator Assessment or 48 college hours
- Proficiency in two languages, English and the appropriate language
- Experience working with children and parents with special needs, multi‑cultural and multi‑ethnic backgrounds
- Knowledge of or receptiveness to philosophy, policy, and methodology of the U.S. educational system
- Associate Degree or approved equivalent training (64 college semester hours) and experience
- One year of successful experience in a related field
- Proficiency in two languages, English and the appropriate language
- Experience working with children and parents with special needs, multi‑cultural and multi‑ethnic backgrounds
- Knowledge of or receptiveness to philosophy, policy, and methodology of the U.S. educational system
- Three years of successful teaching experience

High School or GED holders must take and pass the Kentucky Para‑educator Assessment Exam. Three attempts are allowed. Study materials and classes are available through the KPA Study Guide and KPA Prep Class with JCPS Adult Education.
