Skydive Kentucky Tandem Instructor

Skydive Kentucky is seeking a Tandem Instructor to join our team as soon as possible.

We operate Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Our current need runs through the fall time change on November 1, 2026, with the possibility of continuing beyond that date for the right person.

A qualified instructor should generally be able to complete 7 or more tandem jumps per operating day, depending on weather, bookings, aircraft operations, and other normal operating conditions.

We are looking for an experienced, safety‑mindful Tandem Instructor who is professional with customers, works well as part of a team, and maintains a professional appearance and demeanor.

Skydive Kentucky has a friendly, family‑style atmosphere and a strong old‑school drop zone culture. We work hard, help each other out, take care of our customers, and still enjoy being at the DZ. We value professionalism and safety without losing the camaraderie, personality, and team spirit that have always been part of good skydiving culture.

We are an established drop zone with consistent weekend activity. We are looking for someone who understands that good tandem instruction includes more than simply making the jump. Customer interaction, proper briefings and equipment checks, teamwork with manifest, pilots, packers, and other instructional staff, and consistent adherence to drop zone procedures are all important parts of the position.

Strong Tandem Instructor experience is preferred. An experienced tandem instructor currently rated on another system may still be considered, and we may be able to assist with Strong crossover training for the right candidate.

An AFF Instructor rating is a plus, but is not required for the tandem position.

This position is currently needed through November 1, 2026, with possible continuation by mutual agreement.

Immediate availability is strongly preferred.

• Conduct tandem skydives safely and professionally in accordance with applicable manufacturer requirements, USPA requirements, and Skydive Kentucky procedures.
• Provide clear, professional, customer‑focused tandem instruction.
• Perform required passenger briefings, equipment checks, and pre‑jump and post‑jump duties.
• Ensure proper passenger harness fit and perform appropriate safety checks before boarding and jumping.
• Work cooperatively with manifest, pilots, packers, instructors, and other drop zone staff.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor when interacting with customers and staff.
• Follow Skydive Kentucky safety policies, operating procedures, and equipment requirements.
• Be available to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during the agreed employment period.

• Current Tandem Instructor rating.
• Current and able to meet applicable tandem instructor currency and eligibility requirements.
• Strong Tandem experience preferred.
• AFF Instructor rating is a plus.
• Professional attitude and strong customer‑service skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy weekend drop zone environment.
• Ability and willingness to work as part of a team and follow established drop zone procedures.
• Experienced instructors on another tandem system may be considered for possible Strong crossover assistance.
