**** The Job:
** As a Mechanical Engineer III, you’ll be part of our Outdoor Innovation team working as a hybrid employee.
You’ll get to:
* Help design and develop, new, exciting, forward-reaching, innovative product concepts for Outdoor applications (Electric and Gas Residential and Professional outdoor power equipment, Autonomous systems, etc.)
* Work with a small, fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team (Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Fabrication, Industrial Design) with a strong record of innovation to brainstorm, design, develop, and build functional proof of concept machines to test and show the benefit of each idea.
* Work with the team to brainstorm new product concept ideas and actively solve mechanical challenges related to those concepts.
* Help present concept ideas to SBD management for adoption into product development roadmaps.
* Evaluate existing designs or products for product improvements that can enhance the user experience.
* Look outside of outdoor power equipment product offerings to find creative solutions that can be applied to concepts projects. (E.g., Transportation, Agriculture, Construction, Consumer Electronics, etc.)
** The Person:
*** B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
* 5+ years of experience in a related field. Other levels of experience will be considered.
* Excellent math and analytical skills: ability to apply engineering calculations to support design work.
* Proficiency with respect to designing in CAD applications. (CATIA Preferred)
* Experience working with and designing various mechanisms and mechanical systems.
* Experience designing for plastic injection molding, metal fabrication, stampings, die-castings, and various rapid prototype processes.
