The Quality Engineer helps to create, maintain, and improve quality system policies, procedures, process sampling systems and statistical techniques.
Key Responsibilities- Perform corrective action and root cause analysis as required (customer, supplier, internal).
- Support production Material Review Board (MRB) process and identify underlying cause of non‑conformance.
- Partner closely with cross‑functional teams in support of Continuous Improvement programs and projects.
- Participate in and contribute to site Lean and Six Sigma improvement projects.
- Responsible for cross‑functional team development of Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) plans supported by Statistical Process Control (SPC) and related data analysis.
- Lead the creation and completion of First Article Inspection Reports and related documentation.
- Perform internal audits to support Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Update quality procedures and documents as needed.
- Lead and coordinate on‑site customer source inspections.
- Provide quality KPIs, metrics and reports to leadership team as required.
- Other duties as required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
- 3 years of experience in Quality Engineering.
- Clear understanding of ISO
9001, ISO
13485, AS9100, AS9102 and/or NADCAP standards applicable to electronic manufacturing processes and systems compliance to the standards. - Ability to read and understand blueprints/technical drawings and use basic measuring equipment.
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate technical issues to all levels of the organization (including those without a technical background).
- Commitment to work with a hands‑on approach in a team atmosphere.
- Experience working in the Aerospace and Defense industry preferred.
- Electronics experience within contract manufacturing is preferred.
