This role provides dedicated support for Sebree’s Continuous Improvement initiatives across the smelter, driving creative and urgent solutions to enhance current performance. Consistent application of the process is critical to achieving its Business Goals and this position will be expected to clarify/define work & processes, make information direct & binary, simplify flow & processes, meet customer needs and provide coaching in solving problems at source, as a matter of course.
This position also provides leadership and direction to both people and processes within the Engineering Group. Incumbent directs and coordinates a dynamic strategic plan for the support of the production units considering changing business needs and technology while optimizing the future potential of the plant.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or other related discipline. A master’s degree is desirable but not required. Registered Professional Engineer preferred;
Continuous Improvement Certification (Preferred). - 7+ years of progressive engineering experience, with demonstrated technical leadership.
- High proficiency in analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. A strong history of project and people management success. Demonstrated ability to create a positive, challenging, team-oriented work environment is required. Highly effective communication, mentoring/coaching skills.
- The incumbent must have the ability to build and sustain good working relationships and work effectively in a team environment; be achievement motivated and have a high energy level; effective planning and organizational skills; and effective communication skills (verbal, written, and listening).

Lead the development of the Plant Engineering group personnel to secure the safety, business, cultural, technical and team competencies required to support Century values and strategic plans.
Ensure that internal projects are completed within the framework of current plant standards and comply with acts, regulations and recognized standards.
Develop ideas and guide implementation of future large strategic projects with plant management and corporate experts
Systematically improve engineering project skills and project teamwork.
Coordinate the development of five-year capital plan and realization of the yearly plan.
Developing effective measurements for improvement initiatives supporting the Annual Business Plan
Guiding improvement initiatives for the location
Provide weekly reports on initiatives within the departments
Maintain continuous compliance with statutory obligations as a necessary standard
Establish an environment conducive to teamwork, high morale, employee satisfaction, and performance
