PositionCorrosion Specialist / Sr. Corrosion Specialist – Bowling Green, KY or West Greenville, KY.
Location RequirementsMust reside within 30 miles of the Bowling Green, KY office or West Greenville, KY Compressor Station.
Position DescriptionThe position is responsible for managing daily activities related to corrosion control for assigned areas, including cathodic protection, data acquisition, interpretation, and repairs. Responsibilities also include overseeing computerized compliance documentation, ensuring regulatory compliance with appropriate agencies, monitoring data for effective corrosion control, and proactively providing alternative solutions in consultation with the Region Corrosion Leader. The role requires successful completion of all Operator Qualification tasks assigned to the Corrosion program and some OQ tasks assigned to pipeline-related O&M procedures.
Additional duties include researching new technologies and best practices, providing a representative view of the corrosion scenario to asset owners on a regular basis, inspecting construction corrosion‑related projects, and assisting other areas as needed.
- More than 3 years of corrosion control or pipeline operating experience, along with DOT 195 & DOT 192 compliance knowledge and a basic understanding of corrosion control methodologies and cathodic protection for pipelines.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of personnel.
- Strong critical thinking, problem‑solving, prioritizing, and scheduling skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Physical capability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet, operate valve control wheels with at least 50 turns, and work alone in extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, muddy, wet).
- Required to obtain NACE Corrosion Level “Tester” certification or higher within one year of hire.
- 10 years of gas pipeline experience.
- 10 years of liquid pipeline experience.
- Industry‑related electrical experience.
- Industry‑related instrumentation experience.
- 10 years of corrosion experience.
- High School Diploma.
- Associate degree in Corrosion or related field and/or NACE Certification.
