About the Role

We are hiring experienced Telecommunications Field Technicians to support a major network decommissioning and power-down program for a Tier 1 carrier.

This is a hands‑on, field‑based role working inside Central Offices (COs) and telecom facilities, identifying and safely powering down legacy network equipment.

If you have experience with transport networks, central office environments, and legacy telecom systems, this is a great opportunity to work on a high‑impact national program with long‑term potential.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Perform site surveys and equipment audits inside telecom facilities
  • Identify and validate legacy equipment (active vs inactive)
  • Execute safe power-down (decommissioning) procedures on telecom gear
  • Work with network operations to prevent service disruptions
  • Trace and tag fiber, copper, and cabling
  • Document all work performed (photos, reports, asset tracking)
  • Prepare equipment for downstream removal and recovery teams
What We’re Looking For

Required Experience

  • Experience working in a Central Office (CO) or telecom network environment
  • Background with telecom equipment decommissioning, provisioning, or maintenance
  • Knowledge of:
    • TDM, SONET, or DWDM networks
  • Ability to work independently in live network environments
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with DC power systems / battery systems
  • Hands‑on work with equipment such as:
    • Cisco, Ciena, Adtran, Fujitsu, Lucent, Nokia
  • Background with major carriers:
    • AT&T, Verizon, Lumen, Century Link, etc.
  • Experience with:
    • Circuit turn-ups / turn-downs
    • Network migrations
    • Asset recovery or inventory tracking
Who This Role is Perfect For
  • Central Office Technicians
  • Transport / SONET / DWDM Technicians
  • Telecom Field Techs with legacy network experience
  • Former carrier technicians (AT&T, Verizon, etc.)
Who This Role is NOT For
  • Wireless tower climbers only
  • Fiber installers without Central Office experience
  • OSP construction techs without network equipment experience
Travel & Schedule
  • Travel required across Ohio (and potentially other states)
  • Overnight stays and multi‑week assignments possible
  • 40 hours per week.
Why Join Us
  • Long‑term, high‑volume program with opportunity to scale across multiple states
  • Stable hours (no inconsistent contract gaps)
  • Work across multiple telecom programs and technologies
  • Strong operational support (travel coordination, equipment, onboarding)
