Multifacility Supplier Development & Projects Sourcing Coordinator

Protect multifacility operations and project launches by coordinating technical sourcing, supplier development and tooling execution across assigned suppliers and Metalsa facilities. This role drives supplier readiness, tooling reliability, issue resolution, relocations, engineering changes and continuous improvement while ensuring sourcing decisions support quality, delivery, cost, safety and customer expectations.

Coordinate technical sourcing for tooling, direct materials and assigned project requirements by aligning specifications, supplier capability, timing, quality expectations, total cost and implementation risks.

Lead cross-functional containment and recovery activities for supplier or tooling issues that threaten production, quality, delivery or customer commitments; drive root-cause analysis, corrective actions and sustained closure.

Coordinate tooling relocations from Metalsa to suppliers, between suppliers and back to Metalsa facilities, ensuring transfer plans, condition assessments, documentation, trial readiness and ownership are complete.

Develop, implement and monitor supplier tooling-maintenance expectations, including preventive maintenance, die-tool checklists, critical spare parts, technical skill coverage and action plans for quarantined or high-risk tools.

Conduct or coordinate supplier tooling and capability audits, scorecards and annual physical inventories; maintain accurate documentation of condition, ownership, location, risk and follow-up actions.

Evaluate tooling condition and manufacturing performance to identify rework, scrap, press downtime, formability, assembly or quality risks; coordinate technical solutions and improvement or redesign activity.

Support new projects through each phase by documenting tooling and supplier readiness, tracking problems and countermeasures, and coordinating completion of required project, APQP and PPAP milestones.

Coordinate engineering-change implementation at suppliers, including required components, tooling modifications, validation activity, documentation and production timing.

Plan and monitor spare-part requirements and installation, balancing operational risk, lead time, minimum stock needs and approved budget.

Support supplier technical-personnel development by identifying skill gaps, coordinating training expectations and monitoring progress against project and operational needs.

Provide multifacility reporting on supplier performance, tooling conditions, project timing, budget exposure, open risks and recovery actions; escalate decisions requiring leadership support.

Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial or systems engineering, or supply chain or a related field preferred; equivalent technical education and relevant industry experience may be considered.

Advanced technical training in stamping tooling, dies, mechanical presses or metal-forming processes is strongly preferred.

3-5 years of relevant experience in supplier development, tooling, sourcing, engineering, quality or project execution within automotive or a comparable metal-mechanical industry.

Hands-on experience with stamping tooling, mechanical presses, die maintenance, tooling transfers or technical supplier recovery strongly preferred.

Experience supporting multiple plants, suppliers or simultaneous launch and operational priorities preferred.

Project-lead experience and Lean/TPS/TPM training are assets.

Technical sourcing, supplier capability assessment, negotiation and total-cost evaluation.

Stamping tooling knowledge, including tandem, progressive and transfer dies.

Mechanical press operating principles, preventive maintenance and tooling criticality assessment.

Tool steels, coatings, heat treatment, special-steel welding and tooling-adjustment fundamentals.

Engineering drawing, blueprint and GD&T interpretation; conceptual tooling-design understanding.

Root-cause analysis, corrective action, Lean manufacturing, TPS and TPM methods.

APQP, PPAP and AIAG Core Tools; working knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements.
