LHH is seeking for a client an experienced Tax Analyst to support a growing manufacturing organization located in Lake County
. This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in a dynamic production‑focused environment and enjoy working cross‑functionally to ensure accurate tax compliance and effective tax planning.
The Tax Analyst will play a key role in preparing, analyzing, and reviewing corporate income tax filings, supporting manufacturing‑related tax matters, and partnering with finance and operations to ensure compliance and accuracy. This position offers exposure to multi‑state tax work, process improvement initiatives, and the opportunity to build tax expertise within a complex, product‑driven organization.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and file federal, state, and local corporate income tax returns
. - Assist with quarterly and annual tax provisions
, including supporting schedules and analysis. - Conduct research on manufacturing‑related tax issues, including credits, incentives, depreciation, and cost‑based tax impacts.
- Maintain and reconcile tax accounts, ensuring accuracy within a manufacturing cost‑center environment.
- Support internal and external audits by gathering documentation and assisting with audit responses.
- Help implement process improvements related to tax reporting, data collection, and compliance technologies.
- Collaborate with accounting, finance, and plant teams to ensure proper tax treatment of inventory, production activities, and capital projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
, Finance
, Taxation
, or a related field. - Minimum of 2 years of experience in corporate income tax
. - Experience working in or supporting a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, corporate tax principles, and tax research methodologies.
- Proficiency with tax preparation software and ERP systems; exposure to manufacturing ERPs is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
