Position Purpose

Under the general supervision of the District Director of Special Education and the Superintendent, the Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) provides speech-language assessment and intervention services to students with identified communication disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The SLP collaborates with educational staff, families, and service providers; participates in the IEP process; and serves as a case manager when designated.

The district is posting this position with the intent to hire an in-person provider.

Qualifications
  • Licensing:
    Colorado Department of Education Special Services Provider License with endorsement as a School Speech‑Language Pathologist required
  • Certification:
    American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
  • Experience:

    Successful PreK–12 school-based SLP experience preferred
Contract Information
  • Contract Days: 178 days for full‑time (prorated for part‑time)
  • Compensation:
    Base pay for full‑time based on the 2025–2026 SLP SSP salary schedule ($47,515.00), prorated for part‑time
  • FLSA Status:
    Exempt
Essential Functions
  • Identify students with speech and/or language delays through MTSS processes, screenings, referrals, and other appropriate sources
  • Screen, assess, evaluate, and diagnose speech and language delays and communication disorders for students from birth through age 21
  • Recommend appropriate goals, services, and service delivery models for eligible students
  • Provide individual and group speech-language therapy services in accordance with IEPs and instructional schedules
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of IEPs
  • Serve as case manager for students receiving speech and language services only, as specified in the IEP
  • Document services provided and monitor student progress in accordance with district, BOCES, state, and federal requirements
  • Communicate student progress with parents, teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders as required
  • Train and supervise Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) as assigned
  • Collaborate and consult with teachers, service providers, administrators, parents, community agencies, and Mountain BOCES staff
  • Process Medicaid reimbursements in accordance with program guidelines
  • Maintain ethics, legal responsibility, and confidentiality
  • Follow organizational, district, and Mountain BOCES policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal, teaching, and supervisory skills
  • Demonstrates the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrates leadership skills that support program and organizational objectives
  • Demonstrates understanding of the IEP process and special education requirements
  • Demonstrates experience working with special populations
  • Demonstrates knowledge of speech and language pathologies and evidence-based therapeutic interventions
