Medical Assistant Streetsboro Pulmonary and Sleep

Overview

The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support in an outpatient setting. This role includes rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting in the electronic medical record, assisting with procedures, supporting providers, and promoting efficient patient flow while delivering patient-centered care.

• Facilitates unit operations by managing patient flow.
• Performs front desk duties specific to the department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information, and handling other patient documentation.
• Performs patient-centered care delegated by the Provider.
• Maintains a safe environment for patients.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Maintains the confidentiality of Protected Health Information (PHI) and adheres to PHI-related requirements.
• Annual PHI training, the UH Code of Conduct, and UH policies and procedures address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
